Stashing for the January Transfer Window: Fantrax EPL

With the January Transfer Window open, we have decided to look at players who are already in the league (and in the Fantrax system) who might be close to a move away from their current employers. If you have the roster space available, these players are worth taking a punt on.

Jack Harrison recently completed his move from Leeds to Everton

Fantrax Players to Add during the January Transfer Window

We outline Fantasy EPL players available in the player pool right now, who could have value on new teams after a potential transfer in the upcoming month.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to West Ham/Other Mid-table Clubs

Prospects: In what might be the biggest waste of a transfer in recent years, Dewsbury-Hall went from being the focal point at title winning Leicester to having 0 EPL starts and just 5 sub apps for Chelsea this season. It is no surprise that Chelsea are exploring other options for KDH, who has apparently picked up an "injury" recently. We know all too well this just could be to protect him ahead of an imminent loan/transfer. Rumours are starting to emerge that West Ham are interested in the Chelsea midfielder. With Bowen out for a month or so, and Paqueta not exactly in great form he would be the perfect attacking midfielder for West Ham to add. With West Ham also missing their set-piece taker, he could easily fill in that role. Only (large) concern is how little EPL action KDH has had this year, and he really hasn't played that much in general so he may take a few weeks to find some form or could struggle in general on an already poor team. Regardless, if you are struggling for midfielders this is a very good stash.

It is worth noting that West Ham are also looking at another Chelsea midfielder in Carney Chukwemeka. He can play a similar role to Dewsbury-Hall. Monitor the rumours in the coming days and pick up and stash the Chelsea midfielder that seems more likely to get the move.

James McAtee to ?

Prospects: McAtee will of course have rumours surrounding his move. After a very solid campaign for the relegated Sheffield United last season, he is yet to make a league start for City, and only has a handful of bench apps, which have been for nothing more than a few minutes. Last week vs. Leicester was his longest cameo for 20 minutes, where he made a huge impact helping to change the game and part of the creation of the winning goal. Last year in his 20 starts he managed a PPS of 7.6 and 3 goals and 3 assists. While not exactly a league winning PPS, if he manages to secure a loan to a better team with a creator role, he could easily be closer to 9 PPS. McAtee has the talent but can he get the move? Germany clubs such as Dortmund are also rumoured to be in for him, but the hope here is an EPL club will make the move.

James Ward-Prowse to ?

Prospects: Rumours are swirling that Ward-Prowse will have his loan to Forest terminated. While he could get a chance to start for West Ham among their poor form and injury crisis, there is a better chance he gets shipped off elsewhere in the EPL. Many teams could use the set-piece brilliance of JWP, and if he manages to secure a move to a club where he can actually get consistent starts you could have a set-and-forget MID3 on your hands to close out the season. Proven in the EPL more than most of these players as well, this stash could pay off huge in a few weeks.

Ben Chilwell to ?

Prospects: The English left back has played 45 EFL Cup minutes all season so far and while the rhetoric has been a bit less heated around him since the shocking news of him missing out on the EPL squad registration but that has not changed the fact that he is clearly out of the thinking of Maresca and even the current injury situation around the defense hasn't changed his mind about giving Chilly more minutes. He has always struggled with injuries, but 15 and 23 EPL appearances in the last 2 seasons hardly suggested such a sharp exit from consideration. The club will try to offload him again in the January transfer window and us Fantrax managers will need to keep our eyes peeled for news filtering through. On his day he is one of the best attacking fullbacks in the country and has a mean set-piece delivery. If he gets a move to a spot where he gets regular minutes, he is arguably the player with the biggest comparative upside out of all our suggestions in here. While this all sounds great, the biggest stumbling block in shifting him has been his wages, which have proved to be insurmountable to any club willing to take a gamble. The cautionary tale of Sterling's move to Arsenal in a similar situation should act as a warning that even if he gets a move, it might not work out.
