Premier League Predicted XI: Arsenal to Leicester
Find below all the details on how we think these teams will lineup this season. Subject to change based on new signings and pre-season friendly data, of course.
Arsenal Predicted XI
It's looking increasingly likely that Arsenal will sign White from Brighton, who will likely partner Gabriel in central defence. Chambers should start the season as first choice RB unless a new recruit is signed. We would expect Smith Rowe to be first choice at CAM now that he's signed a new long-term contract, and hopefully Pepe is given the opportunity to establish himself this season with Auba moving back to the central striker full-time.
Aston Villa Predicted XI
The biggest question mark for Villa is how the attacking midfielders will line-up, and if Grealish stays at the club. At the moment we have Grealish on the left and Buendia on the right, with Traore in the CAM position. Buendia and Traore could easily swap... or Villa could sign a new central attacking midfielder. Young will be looking to challenge Targett for minutes at LB.
Brentford Predicted XI
This is currently how we think Brentford will lineup for their debut Premier League campaign. Ajer will come in to partner Pinnock. A new RB may be signed, and Onyeka looks set to start in central midfielder. Three at the back is also an option for the Bees.
Brighton & Hove Albion Predicted XI
Perhaps the biggest question mark for Brighton is who will replace White after he completes his move to Arsenal. Nat Phillips from Liverpool has been linked. Elsewhere, we would expect March to take back his LWB slot, and Veltman and Lamptey will be battling for the RWB berth. As long as Lamptey finally returns to full fitness! Mwepu is likely to start the season on the bench, and Mac Allister will be pushing for more minues.
Burnley Predicted XI
We don't need to say much about Burnley's lineup. It basically picks itself. Vydra and Barnes will be battling for the right to partner Wood up front. Other than that, Gudmundsson will be pushing for minutes, as well as new CB Collins.
Chelsea Predicted XI
Lots of question marks over the best XI for Chelsea, as they have a huge squad of talented players. Pulisic, Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi will be pushing hard for midfield slots, as will Kovacic. Thiago Silva will also push Christensen hard for a starting berth at CB. And obviously a new striker would take Werner out of the side, as well as Havertz potentially being fielded further forward himself.
Crystal Palace Predicted XI
Lots of question marks over the Eagles' best team, as new manager Vieira is still putting his stamp on the side. Joachim Andersen looks set to join, which would likely take Kouyate out of his CB position and back into midfield contention. Olise should go straight into the side, and Benteke and Zaha will feature as the main attackers. The formation could also easily change to more of a 4-3-3 to allow Olise to play further forward, with a more narrow midfield three.
Everton Predicted XI
With new recruits surely on the way, this Everton lineup could change a fair bit before the start of the season. A new RB to replace the aging Coleman is a priority, as well as another attacking midfielder. We’ve got Townsend on the right hand side for the moment, with James Rodriguez playing behind DCL. Keane, Holgate, and Mina look to be battling it out for a place alongside the impressive Godfrey at CB... unless a back three is the preferred option.
Leeds United Predicted XI
The Leeds side pretty much picks itself, with Klich and Roberts the only real alternatives in midfield. Koch and Struijk are other options in defence. We're crossing our fingers and toes in the hope that Rodrigo features heavily this season!
Leicester City Predicted XI
New signing Daka will be pushing hard for a starting position up front, and Harvey Barnes may force a change in formation once he returns to full fitness. Thomas may come into the side if Pereira fails to impress after his long road back from injury. Elsewhere, the team picks itself. Albrighton, Perez and Praet should find themselves on the bench more often than not.
