Waiver Wire Gameweek 9

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 9 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Jack Harrison (Ros 38%)

Prospects: Harrison finally started his first league game for Everton after his shock switch from Leeds. Although his first few appearances were versus relegation rivals Luton Town and Bournemouth, Jack is still delivering the points having registered 30.5 fantasy points in just over 120 minutes. Some of these scoring stats include 3 Key Passes, 1 Shot on Target, 2 Accurate Crosses Not Corners (ACNCs), 2 Successful Dribbles, 1 Tackle Won, 1 Interception, 1 Clearance, and 2 Aerials. This is quite impressive given the fact that he was not on corners and missed 1 big chance; it also shows a defensive trait to his output. Although GW9 and future fixtures are quite difficult for the Toffees, decent MIDs are hard to come by and Harrison is too good to be a Free Agent in your league.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 4-6 FAAB to get him.

Jersurun Rak-Sakyi (Ros 1%)

Prospects: Crystal Palace have been hampered by many injuries, yet Hodgson keeps pulling results out of his geriatric rabbit hat. After the Eagles lost Schlupp in their most recent fixture versus Nottingham Forest, Hodgson brought on young Rak-Sakyi and he looked very promising. While Jersurun has only appeared 4 times this season, he put in a shift v Forest, scoring 7 ghost points in 63 minutes. No Key Passes is a worry but he still has a more defensive paths to points, which he proved last GW with 1 Interception, 1 Aerial, and 1 Tackle Won. 3 Successful Dribbles is exciting, and an indication that Rak-Sakyi likes taking on opposing defenders and having a pop at goal, having attempted 2 shots versus Forest and scoring 3.5 ghost points in a very brief cameo versus Arsenal. Newcastle (A) is a tough fixture in GW9 but he could be a back up option, especially for Eze-owners.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.

Konstantinos Tsimikas (Ros 3%)

Prospects: Andrew Robertson picked up a shoulder injury while on international duty with Scotland, which means Tsimikas should finally get his first league start of the 23/24 campaign. Konstantinos has been getting minutes in the Europa League and EFL cup and has showed signs of being a Fantasy DEF-1/2. During his Europa match vs Union St. Gilloise, Tsimikas registered 2 Key Passes, 2 Interceptions, 2 Tackles Won, 3 Accurate Crosses Not Corners (ACNCs), 1 Successful Dribble, and attempted 4/7 corners. Whereas vs Leicester in the EFL cup, he took 7/10 corners and accumulated 3 Interceptions, 2 Tackles Won, 2 Key Passes, 3 Accurate Crosses Not Corners (ACNCs)l and 1 Shot on Target. In the past seasons, Konstantinos has shown that he can deliver attacking returns and be a 10 Points Per Start asset, which is somewhat reflected through his appearances in other aforementioned competitions. The Greek international is a great replacement for Andrew Robertson owners as the Scotsman could be out for a few gameweeks (or more depending on the severity of the injury) and Liverpool has a peach of a schedule forthcoming.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 4-6 FAAB to get him.

Wilson Odobert (Ros 1%)

Prospects: Odobert made his first start in the league again Chelsea in GW8 and scored Burnley’s only goal during the game. The French international managed to score 11 ghost points in 78 minutes vs Chelsea (H) and 4 ghost points in 22 minutes vs Newcastle (A), which was his first appearance. During these games, in total, Wilson managed to register 2 Key Passes, 2 Shots on Target, 2 Tackles Won, 1 Clearance, and 5 Successful Dribbles. Although Wilson was subbed off after 78 minutes, managers should still consider rostering him as the signs are very promising for the young FWD. Odobert could be a sneaky differential as the fixtures get easier for the Clarets.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAAB to get him.

Harry Toffolo (Ros 3%)

Prospects: Toffolo got his first start of the campaign vs Crystal Palace in GW8 and made his first appearance in the league vs Brentford in GW7. During GW7, Toffolo came on as a sub, got the assist for Nottingham’s equalizer and scored 4.75 ghost points in 29 minutes. During GW8, Harry played the full 90 minutes, kept a clean sheet, and registered 8.5 ghost points, which included 1 Shot on Target. In GW9, Nottingham Forest face Luton Town at home, which is rated as the best fixture in the Fantasy Toolkit for all DEFs during GW9. This is a prime opportunity for Toffolo to get returns on either ends of the pitch.

Verdict: I would use a low waiver pick or 0-1 FAAB to get him.
