Waiver Wire Gameweek 8

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 8 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Vitalii Mykolenko (Ros 12%)

Prospects: After a shambolic loss versus Luton at Goodison Park, you must be wondering why on earth would one suggest an Everton DEF. However, our Fixture Difficulty Tracker in the Draft Society Toolkit suggests that there could be hope for the Toffees backline, as playing Bournemouth at home is the best fixture for any DEF this week. Additionally, Mykolenko seems to ghost well enough as a DEF-3/4, currently averaging 9.9 gPPS and playing 90 mins during every game he has played. Mykolenko also sits 2nd for TkW for all DEFs over the last 3 GWs. The fixtures turn horribly after this gameweek though, so this is purely a streamer pick for GW8.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAAB to get him.

Ryan Christie (Ros 34%)

Prospects: In a season where MIDs are quite hard to roster, Christie could be a perfect MID-4/5 to stash in your roster as Bournemouth’s fixtures start to get easier. The Cherries’ next 3 gameweeks are Everton(A), Wolves(H) and Burnley(H). Even after a worrying GW6 performance, where Christie racked up just 0.5 ghost points, he still managed to reward his owners with an assist. However, he was back to his usual business in GW7, scoring 7.5 ghosties during a 4-0 loss to Arsenal. Christie currently averages 7.9 gPP90 and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him.

Raul Jimenez (Ros 33%)

Prospects: Fulham have looked completely out of sorts this season after Mitrovic’s departure and it’s reflected through their attacking numbers. They are currently tied last with Bournemouth and Sheffield United for the fewest goals scored in the league (5) and are slowly slipping down the league table again. However, if you’re a manager that loves a gamble, their next fixture is against rock-bottom Sheffield United, who have conceded the most goals in the league (19). Furthermore, the Fixture Difficulty Tracker also indicates that FWDs versus Sheffield United have the best matchup in GW8. Last chance Saloon!

Verdict: I would use a low waiver pick or 0-1 FAAB to get him.

Elliot Anderson (Ros 28%)

Prospects: Newcastle are in the Champions League and are rotating out of necessity as they have picked up injuries to some of their key MIDs along the way. This provides the opportunity for players such as Anderson to get minutes. Elliot has started Newcastle’s last three fixtures in the league and has averaged 8.33 gPPS. West Ham are by no means an easy fixture but the young Magpie has shown his ability to score points in both defensive and attacking categories. A decent MID-4/5 if you need to plug a gap for the short term.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAAB to get him.

Wes Foderingham (Ros 21%)

Prospects: If you’re in need of a keeper this gameweek, Wes is a decent option. You might be hesitant to roster him given the Blades just conceded 8 goals versus Newcastle but it’s quite impressive that Foderingham still ended on -1.75 points. Wes is currently 1st in the league for saves (41) and already has more FPts than highly rostered options like Onana, Ederson and Martinez. Wes is also ranked 2nd for gPPS (13.0) which is backed up by the fact that he still scored 9.25 FPts after conceding 2 goals versus West Ham during GW7. Foderingham is a worthy streaming option versus a Fulham team that is struggling to find the back of the net this season.

Verdict: I would use a low waiver pick or 0-1 FAAB to get him.
