Gameweek 38 Preview: Fantrax EPL

Predicting the outcome of each weekend is tough. So many factors go into fantasy lineup decisions, and hopefully this article can help to make some of those toss-ups easier. Below we will preview some of the marquee matchups of the weekend, and highlight some Fantrax players that you should look to pick up and stream as a one week punt.

Fantrax Preview Gameweek 38

Here is our Fantasy EPL Preview where we outline how to plan ahead for this gameweek. This is it! The final gameweek of the season. A bittersweet moment for many, with some ready for a summer break, and many managers battling it out in title clashes this weekend.

GW38 Talking Points

The Title Race

Prospects: City have one hand firmly on the title and should easily see it through on the final day, but as we know this is never that simple in the EPL. Can West Ham truly play spoilers this weekend? Arsenal will do whatever they can against Everton, and I do think it will be a much easier contest for the Gunner with Everton probably having their swimsuits packed and ready to head off to the beach post match. City have shown their discipline and composure down the home stretch, and surely walk away with the title...surely? It would be some story to see Arsenal come home with the title through an Antonio screamer. I think West Ham players could offer some sneaky value this weekend, despite their last few performances, Moyes may truly want to go out with a bang. Obviously you are starting every Arsenal and City player you roster with both teams ready to be on their A game, but let's see if there is an upset on the cards.

Luton's Mission Impossible

Prospects: Luton need to not only win their final game vs. Fulham, but need Forest to lose and a 12 goal swing in their favour to stay up next season. This really seems like mission impossible, but with Fulham already flying kites, can it be done? Forest are up against Burnley who probably will want to go out of the EPL with a bang, so the hope will be Burnley can get a few goals vs. Forest and somehow Luton score 3+ in the first half. After that who knows, but I am definitely not benching any Luton player who is usually involved in any attack. Doughty, Adebayo, and Morris are all must starts, and of course Barkley if he is cleared. Fulham's top assets are probably okay to start, but outside of a punty Adama I'd rather look elsewhere to stream.

On The Beach

Prospects: Many many fixtures will have teams fully "on the beach" and these games are easily the most unpredictable of the bunch. Results will be up in the air with the potential for high scoring games, and streaming attackers is the way to go. Defensively I would try to avoid teams that have completely rotated their XI given this could be the B/C squad having a go, and it could ugly. Looking to see the balance of one XI vs another XI could be key. Example - Fulham going complete C team vs. Luton's best attack it's best to shy away from Fulham defensive streamers.

Lineup Frenzy

Prospects: Gameweek 38 will be a lineup frenzy. Shock starters, surprise studs on the bench, and a ton of option on Free agency. The best way to see starters available is to use Fantrax's "Starting" option when searching through the player pool, from there you can select players starting to add to your team to replace those who aren't starting. I would recommend targeting those upside punts first the shock attacking starters like the Adama's of the world. It's the last gameweek of the year, so unless you are in a dynasty league drop all your non-starters and pick up players so you have a full roster of starters. To beat the rush my best advice would be to pick up as many "punty upside" players that your roster can hold before lineups are announced so you don't miss out on them through a faster finger battle.

Double Gameweek 38 Punts

Giovanni Lo Celso vs. SHU (MID, TOT)

Prospects: Spurs are out of UCL contention and now must contend with trying to get a Europa League spot. Despite the importance of this fixture we could potentially see a surprise lineup or Ange putting more attackers in to actually score this time out. Lo Celso is one of those unlikely candidates who could be in the XI. OIf he starts he is a top stream given the fixture.

Adama Traore vs. LUT (FWD, FUL)

Prospects: Could this finally be it? Adama's first start in a Fulham jersey. With absolutely nothing to play for I see no reason why he shouldn't start vs. Luton. Luton are going to truly go for it given the crazy goal swing they need to see off relegation, which means they will be open at the back. The pace of Adama will punish them. Worth a start if he is in the XI.

Michail Antonio vs. MCI (FWD, WHU)

Prospects: Antonio loves to talk a big game, but most of the time he can back it up being a very prolific player. Can he be the hero Arsenal needs this weekend? You just know Antonio and West Ham will want their name in the headlines this weekend despite achieving next to nothing this campaign, Antonio is someone who could score a title deciding goal. Now this is a really out there punt as there is a better chance he score 3 points than 15 points, but if lineup surprises catch you off guard, he is someone I don't mind starting as a FWD3 with some upside.
