Waiver Wire Gameweek 35

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 35 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Marc Cucurella (Ros 38%)

Prospects: Chelsea are one of 2 teams that have the most remaining fixtures for the rest of the season. So naturally, on the eve of the Blues’ first of two double gameweeks, getting a Chelsea asset should be one of the most obvious moves. It would be understandable if managers are hesitant on Chelsea defenders as the London outfit have only kept 1 clean sheet in their last 11 games, with their last result being the heaviest loss of the season (5-0 vs Arsenal). However, there are some positives to assets like Cucurella who are scoring enough ghost points to warrant a start. Since Cucurella's reintroduction into the starting XI in Gameweek 28, the Spaniard has been averaging just under 8.5 ghost points per game (last 6 games). In that time, Cucurella has also managed to get 2 assists, so there is upside to the play, which easily qualifies him as a DEF-2/3 for any roster this gameweek.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Noni Madueke (Ros 38%)

Prospects: Madueke has not had a consistent run of starts or minutes in the league this season. That being said, surgery and recovery to midfielder Enzo should open up a playing spot for out-of-favor Chelsea assets like Madueke. It also helps that Madueke has started the last 3 games for Chelsea. Although Madueke’s recent form has not shown much ghost point production (just over 3 ghost points per start over the past 3 games), which is abnormal given his point production history at Chelsea so far, he still managed to notch 2 attacking returns in his last 4 games. There is also a chance he could take a penalty if Cole Palmer is subbed early in one of the next two games, given his absence during Gameweek 34 due to illness. Noni should definitely be considered as a FWD-3 option as Chelsea are not shy of goals (7th most goals scored for the season) and will continue to hunt an elusive European spot.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Kevin Schade (Ros 22%)

Prospects: Brentford have been absolutely ravaged by injuries this season. However, all their absentees are slowly coming back, and at the perfect time given Brentford’s current league table position and their easy remaining fixtures for the season. There has been a lot of suspicion over the exclusion of Ivan Toney over the past few weeks, so if you are an owner and are a bit worried, grabbing Kevin Schade could be a great handcuff to ensure you have a piece of the Bees’ attack. Schade has come on as a sub in Brentford’s last 2 games and has gotten an attacking return in both games (1 goal & 1 assist). Although the German international came up against 2 of the bottom 3 teams in the league, his involvement in the attack is still a great sign given the fact that he is actually registered as a MID but is playing further up the pitch as a FWD. Kevin is definitely one to consider as a depth pick.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.

Emil Krafth (Ros 5%)

Prospects: According to our Fixture Difficulty Tracker, Newcastle defenders have the best rated fixture in Gameweek 35, despite only having a single game. The Magpies host bottom-of-the-league Sheffield United and the Toon Army are expected to get a win given their recent home form in the league (3rd best over the last 4 games; 12 goals scored, 4 goals conceded). It should also be noted that the Blades have the 3rd worst away form as well (5 goals scored, 11 goals conceded) with 0 wins in their last 4 games. So there is a chance of a possible clean sheet for any Newcastle asset, and the easiest way into sharing some of the spoils is via Krafth. Due to the numerous injuries Newcastle have had, Krafth has been called upon in recent games, starting the last 4 games for the Tyneside club. Since his inclusion, Newcastle have kept 2 clean sheets in their last 4 games and the Swedish DEF has been averaging 7 ghost points per start. Newcastle are also hunting for a European qualification spot and double in Gameweek 37, so it’s also an easy early stash for Fantrax managers, especially those in the playoffs.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Thomas Partey (Ros 16%)

Prospects: Arsenal are currently top of the league and are absolutely flying. The Gunners currently have the most goals for and the fewest goals against, and will be aiming to continue this stellar form going into the final few stages of the season. Arsenal will also be buoyed by the return of their Ghanaian midfield enforcer. Partey is another player who has missed most of this season, with only 5 starts, his last one coming against Chelsea in Gameweek 34. In recent seasons, Partey has typically averaged 6-7 points per game and at the start of this campaign, Partey averaged 8.5 ghost points per start (3 games), which is what he scored versus Chelsea, including his clean sheet point. You’d expect Partey to continue to get starts and minutes for the rest of the season as Arsenal will continue to fight for the league title ,which warrants his spot as a MID-5 for any Fantrax manager.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
