Waiver Wire Gameweek 29
Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 29 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!
David Datro Fofana (Ros 23%)
Prospects: Burnley's opponents in Gameweek 29, Brentford, have only kept 1 clean sheet in their last 6 games, conceding 13 goals in the process. Although Burnley have struggled to score goals this season, their recent loanee from Chelsea has managed to nail a starting spot as the team's main striker, having already scored 3 goals in 7 appearances. Since his first start in Gameweek 24, Fofana has attempted 9 shots and scored 38 FPts, the most of all Burnley outfielders in both categories. Fofana also scored his highest tally of the season during Gameweek 28, scoring 1 goal with 12.5 ghost points. Burnley's time in the Premier League is running out and they will need to start winning to have any hope of surviving relegation. So if you think Burnley can score versus Brentford, then bet on Fofana.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
Chris Wood (Ros 25%)
Prospects: Nottingham Forest are only 3 points off the relegation zone, and now face their nearest rivals in the table, Luton Town. This is a must-win game for either team which means Forest will have to try and score some goals. Although Forest seem to have a few fit options in the striker position, Chris Wood could be the preferred option moving forward as the Kiwi completed 90 minutes in Gameweek 28. It should be noted that the last time Wood faced the Hatters, he scored a brace and registered his 2nd highest FPts tally (32) for the season. It also helps that our Fixture Difficulty Tracker rates Luton as the 2nd best opponent for forwards to face in Gameweek 29.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.
Neco Williams (Ros 12%)
Prospects: Nottingham Forest are 1 of 8 teams with a fixture in the massive blank Gameweek 29. Typically one of the more popular positions for streaming is in defence, yet there has been a paucity of clean sheets this season which means that managers require defensive assets with some ghost point production. Luckily, Williams has recently popped up with some noticeable form having scoring 8.5 ghost points in back-to-back games versus Brighton and Liverpool. Given Luton Town have conceded most of their chances from central positions and their left flank, Neco could get some joy down the right side of Forest's attack as they aim to get a win over their relegation rivals and ensure a 6-point gap between themselves and the drop zone.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
Kristoffer Ajer (Ros 3%)
Prospects: Brentford defenders have the best rated fixture in Gameweek 29 which makes sense as they come up against a Burnley team that has only scored 2 goals in their last 4 games, both of which came in Gameweek 28. Although Brentford (52) are the only team to have conceded fewer goals than Luton Town (59), Burnley (62) and Sheffield United (74), players like Ajer have been scoring enough ghost points to warrant a potential start versus Burnley, a team that has scored the 2nd lowest goals (27) in the league. Given the injuries to Mee and Pinnock, Ajer appears to be a nailed CB option for Brentford in GW29 and has a handy ghost point output of 9.0 gPP90.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
Adama Traore (Ros 32%)
Prospects: Adama Traore has always been a Fantrax favorite, especially his ability to rack up ghost points like nobody's business. Since the Spaniard's move to Fulham, Adama has never quite managed to start a game for the Cottagers, let alone play significant minutes this season but that wasn't helped by injuries. However, Traore seems to have found his feet again and it's noticeable from his current form ov2er the last 3 gameweeks, 26 FPts over a total of 36 minutes which includes a goal. Considering Spurs have conceded most of their goals in the last 15 minutes of their matches this season (11), Traore could be the punt of the week if you are unable to get any of your other starting waiver options for the huge blank gameweek.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
