Dango Ouattara crosses the ball for Bournemouth in a match against Chelsea

Waiver Wire Gameweek 20

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 20 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Giovani Lo Celso (Ros 23%)

Prospects: In the last four gameweeks, only two teams have scored 10 or more goals: Bournemouth and Tottenham. If there's ever an opportunity for a pick with an upside play, it would be to punt on any part of the attack of either team. Luckily for Fantrax managers, Kulusevski managed to accumulate his 5th yellow card of the season against Brighton, which should allow a fellow Spurs midfielder to have a starting spot versus Bournemouth in Gameweek 20. Enter Giovani Lo Celso. After the Argentine's introduction into the Spurs starting XI in Gameweek 13, he started 3 consecutive games and was averaging 13.5 points-per-start, including 2 goals. Shortly after, Lo Celso picked up an injury and was missing for some time. Now the Argentine is back and we've seen him get more and more minutes as a late sub in games, his longest and most impactful one being in Gameweek 19 where he scored 7 Ghost points in 24 minutes. Lo Celso could be worth a stream as our Fixture Difficulty Tracker suggests that Spurs MIDs have the 2nd best fixture in Gameweek 20.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.

Chris Wood (Ros 17%)

Prospects: Nuno Espírito Santo is back in the Premier League as Nottingham Forest's new manager and his positive effect on Forest's fantasy assets has not gone unnoticed, especially Chris Wood. The Kiwi striker has now completed back-to-back 90 minute games in the Premier League for the the first time this season, registering his third 30+ FPts haul in the process. In the last 2 gameweeks, Wood has registered 4 goals and 1 assist, which was accompanied with 7 shots (5 on target), 2 key passes, 4 dribbles and 13 aerials. Wood does not typically ghost well, but his opponents Manchester United are in a mixed run of form with only 1 win in their last 4 games while conceding 7 goals. After his match-winning hat-trick performance at St. James' Park, Wood will want to continue his scoring streak as he helps Nottingham Forest in the fight to avoid relegation.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 4-5 FAB to get him.

Dango Ouattara (Ros 24%)

Prospects: After losing the Cherries left-back Kerkez to a possible lengthy injury, Fantrax managers were rewarded with an unexpected out-of-position gem in Dango Ouattara. In their last 2 games, Dango has been averaging 9.75 ghost points per game in his new defensive role, and also attempted 4 shots! Playing in this new role has given Dango the opportunity to score ghost points over the last 2 gameweeks through defensive contributions such as tackles won (6), interceptions (3), aerials (6) and blocked shots (2). Dango should be off to AFCON soon but he could be a great FWD-3 for your roster if he keeps the starting left-back spot for Bournemouth.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.

Danny Welbeck (Ros 25%)

Prospects: Brighton have been absolutely ravaged by injuries this season. Their most recent absentees have been attackers Adingra and Mitoma, who would have been missing-in-action due to their respective international duties in the AFCON and Asia Cup. There is a slight concern that if a team loses their best players, they might not maintain the same quality of attacking football. However, it seems as though De Zerbi is still able to get results and we saw the reemergence of Welbeck in an impressive 4-2 win versus Spurs in Gameweek 19. The English forward usually struggles to stay fit, but when he does play he scores quite well. Last season, Welbeck was averaging 7.5 points-per-game, registering 9 attacking returns. In Welbeck's last 2 starts this season, he's gotten 1 goal and 1 assist in 113 minutes of action, averaging 15 points-per-start. Dat-guy-Welbz is a solid FWD-3 stream for any manager.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.

Elijah Adebayo (Ros 26%)

Prospects: Adebayo has started the last 4 games for Luton Town and seems to have displaced Carlton Morris as the Hatters' starting striker. In his last 4 gameweeks, Adebayo has averaged just over 11 points-per-game. During this period, Adebayo has shown different sides to his Fantrax scoring profile where he has only averaged 4 ghost-points-per-game in the two matches he scored, but ghosted just over 9 points-per-game in the games that he blanked. It seems Adebayo will score points regardless of the situation. Lest we forget, Adebayo scored vs Bournemouth, the fixture that was discounted and postponed due to an on-field medical emergency. In Gameweek 20, Luton Town host Chelsea, a team who has the 18th worst away record of all teams in their last four games.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
