Waiver Wire Gameweek 17
Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 17 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!
Neco Williams (Ros 18%)
Prospects: Williams has recently forced himself into the Forest first team starting 3 of the last 4. His 8.4 ghost points per start is a great floor for any potential clean sheet or attacking-return-assisted double-digit score. Matchups against Brentford, Spurs, Wolves and Everton make Neco a decent hold over the holiday period if you are in need of a defender.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
Harry Wilson/Adama Traore (Ros 16%)
Prospects: I am suggesting a double here as neither man has done enough really to make the spot (vacated by an injured Reiss Nelson) their own. My heart says Adama would be an absolute beast against Southampton, but I am not against starting Wilson either, if he is the one starting although he has failed to impress as a starter (as opposed to his antics off the bench).
Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 3-5 FAB to get him.
Jacob Murphy (Ros 38%)
Prospects: Murphy has been in and out of the team for years, with hot streaks followed by long disappearances. He started 9 games this season already (compared to14,14, and 13 starts, respectively, in the last 3 seasons) and has already managed 2G & 4A, which puts him on course for a career year. Of those returns, 2 goals and 2 assists came in the last 2 games, which makes him the hottest player in the EPL right now. Newcastle are back on form and the charge is at least partly led by Murphy. Word of warning: Don't expect many ghost points if he doesn't get an attacking return.
Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 6-8 FAB to get him.
