Gameweek 6 Waiver Wire
Here we outline Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Targets that have 40% ownership or below on Fantrax. These are the low ownership players who could perform very well over the upcoming period!
Marc Cucurella
Position: Defender
Team: Brighton
Rostered: 38%
Next 3 Fixtures: cry, ARS, nor
Prospects: The Spaniard has fit in seamlessly since his arrival from Getafe at the end of the window and is bringing this particular writer to tears just remembering the last time a Spanish defender was tearing up the wing on the south coast. I am obviously thinking about one Martín Montoya. Cucurella arguably has already done more in 2 matches than his compatriot did before him! Cucurella seems to have done enough to cement his place in Potter's XI, if that is even possible. With Brighton's "easy" run coming to an end soon, there is still time to invest in their defence with the next 3 fixtures in mind.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver claim or 3-8% of my FAB on Cucurella.
Liam Cooper
Position: Defender
Team: Leeds
Rostered: 40%
Next 3 Fixtures: WHU, WAT, sou
Prospects: Highly touted by our writers before the start of the season, the Leeds big man has suffered along with his teammates in the first 4 weeks. GW5 brought some sort of redemption for Cooper as he posted a cool 11.25 sans CS. With the schedule easing up, he is worth an add in the 60% of leagues he is available and maybe a cheeky trade offer should be sent in the 40% where he is rostered. Aerials are the name of the game, so expect a high floor even if Leeds concede.
Verdict: I would use a mid-range waiver claim or 8-12% of my FAB on Cooper.
Albert Sambi Lokonga
Position: Midfielder
Team: Arsenal
Rostered: 14%
Next 3 Fixtures: TOT, bri, CRY
Prospects: Lokonga seems to be one of those defensive mids, who is a decent points magnet when playing weaker opposition. He has 9.5 and 11 against Norwich and Brentford and came on for 28 minutes last week against Burnley only to accumulate 7.5 points in the process. If you are short on midfield options, do not hesitate to call on him to ghost you a few valuable points to shore up your midfield.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver claim or 3-5% of my FAB on Lokonga.
Maxwel Cornet
Position: Forward
Team: Burnley
Rostered: 13%
Next 5 Fixtures: lei, NOR, mci
Prospects: Do not necessarily let that 6.5 points in 32 minutes fool you. Burnley were going "all out attack" to snatch a draw against Arsenal when the new signing was introduced. Half of his points came from a successful cross directed goalwards, but he did look lively and ready for action. At this point in his integration into the team, he is most likely going to be one of those players, who gets picked up on Tuesday and kept until lineups are out and dropped if he is not starting. That is until he nails down the spot, at which point whoever had him last will end up with a solid FWD3. Be that guy!
Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-3% of my FAB on Cornet.
