Updated: May 17, 2021

The Perfect XI format of Fantasy EPL on Fantrax is going to take the community by storm. Fact. Our good friends at @DPLCommLeague have brought the concept over to Fantrax, and it is sensational. We're here to provide Draft Premier League managers with our very own Perfect XI tips for each gameweek. Details of the concept and rules can be found here!

Check out @DPLCommLeague for further information on the format, regular updates on the latest standings, as well as information on how you can enter.

Fantasy EPL Gameweek 36 Perfect XI

So, what is Perfect XI? Similar to Official Fantasy Premier League game, all managers have full access to the entire player pool each week, meaning multiple teams within the league could be completely identical. The main departures from OFPL are the Fantrax Default Scoring, unlimited transfers each week, no budget/salary cap, and live lineup changes available. This means that each week you can select a dream team of Fantrax assets who you think will score the most points on a given gameweek, and have the added bonus of being able to see the real life lineups before your players lock in your lineup. Magic.

Check out our Gameweek 36 Perfect XI tips below. These are our recommendations for the best eleven players this weekend!

GK: Emiliano Martinez

Team: Aston Villa

Opponent: Crystal Palace (Away)

Total Fantasy Points: 322.5

Rostered: 88%

The Thought: I'm keeping it simple for my Goalkeeper pick. Emiliano Martinez is the highest scoring goalkeeper this season, he was ranked first in the latest refresh of my Goalkeeper Rankings, and he's playing a mid-table side who have only scored 37 goals in their 35 games so far. Martinez kept a clean sheet on Thursday against Everton, and made a boat-load of saves. He's in good form.

DEF: Trent Alexander-Arnold

Team: Liverpool

Opponent: West Bromwich Albion (Away)

Total Fantasy Points: 343.75

Rostered: 100%

The Thought: The first defender in my Perfect XI is Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Liverpool defender was genuinely the first name on my team sheet this week, across all of the positions. Alexander-Arnold is the 3rd highest scoring player in Fantrax since March 1st, he's playing incredibly well, and registered 47.5 points during Double Gameweek 35. You have to select this guy!

DEF: Andrew Robertson

Team: Liverpool

Opponent: West Bromwich Albion (Away)

Total Fantasy Points: 296.5

Rostered: 100%

The Thought: Andrew Robertson had a pretty average Double Gameweek 35 (12.5 points) compared to Alexander-Arnold, but I'm very keen on the Liverpool defensive stack for the trip to relegated West Brom. The Scottish left-back is the 7th highest scoring defender this season, and I'm backing him for a strong display against the Baggies.

DEF: Lucas Digne

Team: Everton

Opponent: Sheffield United (Home)

Total Fantasy Points: 302.75

Rostered: 99%

The Thought: Backing another elite defender who's playing against a relegated side? How predictable. Lucas Digne gets the nod for my final defender slot as Everton host Sheffield United. The Frenchman gained a cool 29 points during his Double Gameweek 35, which saw Everton secure two clean sheets and a big win against West Ham. I really like Digne for this weekend, and he'll likely to sharing set-piece duties with Sigurdsson.

MID: Phil Foden

Team: Manchester City

Opponent: Newcastle United (Away)

Total Fantasy Points: 281

Rostered: 99%

The Thought: With De Bruyne, Fernandes, Pogba, Maddison, Tielemans, Mount, Havertz and Pulisic without a Gameweek 36 fixture, picking midfielders this week is going to be tough. I'm kicking things off with a punt on Phil Foden starting for City against Newcastle. If the young Englishman does start, then I think he's a must-have player due to the aforementioned explosive assets having a Blank Gameweek 36. If Foden doesn't start, then I would look to Cancelo if he starts, and then the likes of Bale and Sigurdsson who feature later on in the weekend.

MID: Michail Antonio

Team: West Ham United

Opponent: Brighton (Away)

Total Fantasy Points: 262.5

Rostered: 98%

The Thought: Next up is Michail Antonio, fresh off his impressive return from injury. In Gameweek 34 the beast of a man made a surprising return to the West Ham side, scoring two goals, and gaining 31 points on Fantrax! The Hammers face a trip to Brighton this weekend, and I'm backing Antonio to find the back of the net. Brighton will be missing their inspirational centre-back Lewis Dunk.

MID: Jesse Lingard

Team: West Ham United

Opponent: Brighton (Away)

Total Fantasy Points: 178

Rostered: 88%

The Thought: Jesse Lingard makes my team despite a downturn in his form during the last few games. I'm willing to take a chance on the Englishman due to the fact that Dunk is suspended and Brighton will have a makeshift defence. Lingard will be desperate to continue with his pre-Gameweek 33 form.

MID: Jack Grealish

Team: Aston Villa

Opponent: Crystal Palace (Away)

Total Fantasy Points: 395.5

Rostered: 99%

The Thought: Jack Grealish is the 3rd highest scoring midfielder in Fantrax despite only playing 23 games so far this season! His points per start average of 17.9 is only bettered by Gareth Bale. Super Jack made his return with a 17 minute cameo from the bench in Gameweek 35. I'm backing him to be given the start this weekend against Palace, as, well, Aston Villa need him! Traore, Barkley, or El Ghazi are easy replacements if Grealish isn't fit enough to start.

FWD: Mohamed Salah

Team: Liverpool

Opponent: West Bromwich Albion (Away)

Total Fantasy Points: 432

Rostered: 100%

The Thought: Mohamed Salah scored 32 points during Liverpool's Double Gameweek 35, and I'm backing him to start once again this weekend against West Brom. The Egyptian forward is chasing the Golden Boot, and Liverpool are chasing a Top 4 finish. I don't see Salah being rotated, and he's a must have player this weekend.

FWD: Sadio Mane

Team: Liverpool

Opponent: West Bromwich Albion (Away)

Total Fantasy Points: 411

Rostered: 100%

The Thought: Following on from my Liverpool defensive stack, I'm also going for a Liverpool forward stack. I could have easily picked Kane or Son for this slot, but after Sadio Mane was benched during the 4-2 victory over Manchester United, he's going to be raring to go this weekend. If Mane is benched again this weekend, move across to Diogo Jota.

FWD: Raphinha

Team: Leeds United

Opponent: Burnley (Away)

Total Fantasy Points: 347.5

Rostered: 88%

The Thought: Raphinha is back!!! The Brazilian forward returned to action in Gameweek 35 and registered an assist from the bench during his 31 minute appearance. The Leeds winger has been an absolute revelation this season, and he has to start this weekend against Burnley. I love Raphinha; he's a genuine elite level Fantrax asset. I've ranked him as high as 3rd in my Weekly ROS Rankings, and expect him to be a first round draft pick next season. Get him in your Perfect XI!
