Updated: May 13, 2021

Our Gameweek 34 Hot or Cold article is here to outline the current prospects of key Fantasy EPL players.  The 'Hot' or 'Cold' status will help take away your emotional attachment to certain Draft Premier League players and help you bring in the players that you need to help you dominate your Fantrax Draft League!

These Hot or Cold ratings are based on the data contained within the Weekly Rest-of-Season Rankings produced by The FF Chaps. The Draft Society's exclusive weekly refresh of Fantasy EPL prospect rankings!

🔥🔥🔥 Gameweek 34 Hot List 🔥🔥🔥

These are Fantasy EPL players that have risen in our Weekly ROS Rankings! Keep an eye on these Draft Premier League players, and bring them into your Fantrax squad if you can.

Dwight McNeil

Position: Midfielder

Team: Burnley

GW33 Rank: 67

GW34 Rank: 35

What's Changed?: Have you seen Dwight McNeil's scores in recent weeks?! I'll admit I missed how well he's been doing after being burned fairly hard by him earlier in the season. I fear the astonishing 4-0 win over Wolves has highlighted his great scores to the masses, but in any case I'm ready to back him strongly for the rest of the season! McNeil has risen up to 35th overall in my Weekly ROS Rankings after scoring 22.5 points in GW33 and 94 points in total since March 1st. That's the 7th best score in the whole of Fantrax during that period! Burnley seem to be one of the few mid-table sides who are still committed to this season, so picking up a few of their assets could work out well.

Timothy Castagne

Position: Defender

Team: Leicester City

GW33 Rank: 57

GW34 Rank: 42

What's Changed?Timothy Castagne has been rising up my ranks the last couple of weeks. The Belgian defender has back-to-back attacking returns after moving to a wing-back berth as Rodgers has returned to his old system. With Fofana, Evans, and Soynucu providing the defensive stability, Castagne has been given more freedom to roam down the right hand side. Leicester have won their last two games and Castagne has gained 44 points in Fantrax! With a ranking of 42nd overall, I'm backing the former Atalanta defender to perform really well during the run-in as Leicester chase a Champions League spot.

Mason Greenwood

Position: Forward

Team: Manchester United

GW33 Rank: 77

GW34 Rank: 61

What's Changed?: The final hot player I'm going to analyse is Mason Greenwood. Not a player I was expecting to rise so prominently as the season draws to a close, especially after not even ranking him in GW31! Since then the young Englishman has been starting more often than not and slowly rising up my ranks. Greenwood now finds himself in 61st overall after scoring 4 goals in 4 games. He's the 5th highest scoring player since April 1st, and even managed to score double figures in GW33 without any attacking returns. My issues with Greenwood are that his playing time has been limited this season and his Ghost Points haven't usually been very good. He looks to have rectified both of these concerns though. Maybe I should have ranked him higher...

❄️❄️❄️ Gameweek 34 Cold List ❄️❄️❄️

These are Fantasy EPL players that have fallen in our Weekly ROS Rankings. This may be due to poor form, they have been dropped from the best 11, they have suffered an injury, or received a suspension. It's time to consider trading out these Draft Premier League players from your rosters!

Daniel Podence

Position: Midfielder

Team: Wolves

GW33 Rank: 39

GW34 Rank: 74

What's Changed?: I've been backing Daniel Podence to perform well during the run-in after returning from injury at the start of the month. I picked up the Portuguese midfielder in every Fantrax league I'm in, and he bagged a great score of 9.5 points during 45 minutes of action in GW30. 3 Key Passes and 3 Accurate Crosses. I thought I had picked up a gem to bring me through to the season's conclusion... But it hasn't work out. Since then Podence has scored 1, -3.5 and 1.5 during favourable fixtures and he finds himself down in 74th overall in my ranks after his latest poor score against Burnley.

Recommendation: I've heard Podence has had some personal issues in recent weeks which could explain his poor scores on Fantrax and poor performances in real life. Obviously this isn't very nice for the player, but we can't dwell on these things as Fantasy EPL managers. Try and trade him out for the likes of Bernardo Silva, Eberechi Eze, or a resurgent Dani Ceballos.

Hakim Ziyech

Position: Midfielder

Team: Chelsea

GW33 Rank: 82

GW34 Rank: 92

What's Changed?: I like Hakim Ziyech and I've been rooting for him to do well this season, despite not rostering him in any of my leagues. But its just not going for him. The Moroccan midfielder has scored 19.5 points since March 1st. That just isn't going to cut it!

Recommendation: As we enter the business end of the season, try and trade out Ziyech for pretty much anyone. He's now dropped down to 92nd overall in my ROS Rankings. Mason Greenwood, Christian Benteke, Matt Targett, Joel Veltman, John McGinn, Nicolas Pepe... try and get pretty much anyone you can!

Ricardo Pereira

Position: Defender

Team: Leicester City

GW33 Rank: 86

GW34 Rank: 102

What's Changed?: Finishing off my GW34 Cold List is unfortunately Ricardo Pereira. My heart goes out to anyone who drafted the injured Leicester defender back in September. You were drafting him in the hope that you would gain a DEF1 for the second half of the season. Instead, you've had an injured player taking up an important roster slot for half a season, followed by an underperforming player trying to get back to fitness for the second half. Hopefully Pereira will be back up to speed ready for next season. His manager Rodgers has admitted it may not be until then that we do see our former Fantrax beast back in action!

Recommendation: Its time to drop him. Luke Thomas has started the last two games, with Castagne operating on the right hand side. I don't see Pereira making much of an impact between now and the end of the season. A weekly streamer from my Sleepers XI article will serve you much better, as hard as that is for me to admit.
