Fantasy EPL Gameweek 30 Sleepers XI
For this section, we use the % rostered stat from Fantrax. Our only rule is that each player we highlight is required to be rostered in 60% of leagues or below at the time of writing. Therefore there's a good chance these players will be free agents in your Fantrax Draft League!
The following teams are the only ones to have a fixture in GW30, so slim pickings for the Sleepers XI:
Arsenal
Aston Villa
Brentford
Leeds
Leicester
Tottenham
West Ham
Wolves
GK: David Raya Martin
Team: Brentford
Opponent: Leicester (away)
Rostered: 39%
Points Last Gameweek: 14.25
Prospects: Since Raya has been back from injury, he has only produced 2 single digit returns in 6 games (2 GA vs MCI and ARS for 7 and 7.25 points) He has been a solid performer and it looks like Brentford might be steadying the ship now that Raya, Eriksen and Toney are all playing. He could be a good shout to hold for the rest of the season.
DEF: Jonny
Team: Wolves
Opponent: Leeds (home)
Rostered: 32%
Points Last Gameweek: 12
Prospects: Jonny is finally back healthy and he slots perfectly into a Wolves DEF that has been doing wonders this season. A slight injury crisis at wing back means that he has been somewhat rushed back from injury, but this is not a week to be picky.
DEF: Cristian Romero
Team: Spurs
Opponent: West Ham (home)
Rostered: 53%
Points Last Gameweek: 20.25
Prospects: We have been on the Romero train since August. Admittedly this is a train that stops A LOT! Like in villages that have been abandoned by people and are ruled by iguanas. But we are back on and its full steam ahead! Probably the most consistent performer in the Spurs back line.
DEF: Cedric Soares
Team: Arsenal
Opponent: Aston Villa (away)
Rostered: 24%
Points Last Gameweek: -0.5
Prospects: It looks like Tomiyasu is still out, so Cedric should continue to ably deputise at RB. Villa are far from the force they should be on paper, and Cedric has a decent floor given that he takes a fair chunk of Arsenal's set pieces.
MID: Rodrigo Bentancur
Team: Tottenham Hotspur
Opponent: West Ham (home)
Rostered: 30%
Points Last Gameweek: 15
Prospects: Bentancur is back and ready to start. One of those not so fancy, but solid enough picks who might make the difference in your matchup.
MID: Manuel Lanzini
Team: West Ham
Opponent: Spurs (away)
Rostered: 47%
Points Last Gameweek: -0.5
Prospects: The Argentinian draft legend blows hot and cold, but he is a decent ROS hold so his rostered percentage being this low surprised me. Designated penalty taker and all around wonderful guy. He really should be the captain of the Sleepers XI.
MID: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Team: Leicester
Opponent: Brentford (home)
Rostered: 26%
Points Last Gameweek: 6
Prospects: Criminally under-rostered, KDH is one of the IRL revelations of the season. He also scores pretty well for Fantrax purposes, aided by some sets he takes and his ability to run as well as pick a pass into space. You should pick, start and hold him.
MID: Thomas Partey
Team: Arsenal
Opponent: Aston Villa (away)
Rostered: 64%
Points Last Gameweek: 7
Prospects: Partey completes our central semi-defensive midfielder triumvirate. He has been ghosting like its Halloween recently (coupled by attacking returns), which makes him an ever safer starting choice. Top scorer in a DGW, Partey is likely also a ROS hold.
FWD: Rodrigo
Team: Leeds
Opponent: Wolves (away)
Rostered: 57%
Points Last Gameweek: 13
Prospects: The Spaniard has not been stellar nor kicked on as much as I had hoped he would under new management, but he did score a goal last time around, so hopefully he can continue getting returns to prop up his measly ghost numbers, if his injury status does not get in the way.
FWD: Kelechi Iheanacho
Team: Leicester
Opponent: Brentford (home)
Rostered: 56%
Points Last Gameweek: 0
Prospects: Vardy is out injured and Daka is likely sick, so by process of elimination, Nacho looks to have the spot nailed for this weekend. Leicester need to end the season in decent form to avoid questions being asked about Brendan Rodgers, so I expect them to come out firing, particularly home to Brentford.
FWD: Sergi Canos
Team: Brentford
Opponent: Leicester (away)
Rostered: 40%
Points Last Gameweek: 10
Prospects: The wing-back turned forward has been barely rosterable this season besides his GW1 heroics but has managed 9.5 and 10 points in his last 2 starts without attacking returns, so although a definite drop after this GW, I am quietly optimistic for him to reach at least 7 points this weekend.
