Fantrax EPL: Gameweek 23 Perfect XI

Updated: Feb 8, 2022

DPLCommLeague have brought the concept over to Fantrax, and it is sensational. We're here to provide Draft Premier League managers with our very own Perfect XI tips for each gameweek. Details of the concept and rules can be found here!

Check out DPLCommLeague for further information on the format, regular updates on the latest standings, as well as information on how you can enter.

Fantasy EPL Gameweek 23 Perfect XI

So, what is Perfect XI? Similar to Official Fantasy Premier League game, all managers have full access to the entire player pool each week, meaning multiple teams within the league could be completely identical. The main departures from OFPL are the Fantrax Default Scoring, unlimited transfers each week, no budget/salary cap, and live lineup changes available. This means that each week you can select a dream team of Fantrax assets who you think will score the most points on a given gameweek, and have the added bonus of being able to see the real life lineups before your players lock in. Magic.

Check out our Perfect XI tips below. These are our recommendations for the best eleven players this weekend! Picks are now accompanied by our weekly projections, which our Inner Circle members can exclusively access. Due to the tight scheduling, these will be a bit abridged for a couple weeks.

GK: Nick Pope

Wit the DGWs happening, its either Pope or the Cycling GK, Ben Foster logically here. I think there's a small risk that Bachmann replaces Foster for 1 of the games so I've opted for Pope despite tougher matchups

Pivot: Ben Foster

DEF: Samir, Hassane Kamara, James Tarkowski, Trent Alexander-Arnold

Watford have fantastic matchups vs Norwich and Burnley so I'm starting the 2 low-data, new signings Samir and Kamara who ghosted well last week and should start both games in an improved Watford back line. Tarkowski a fellow DGWer with slightly tougher matchup but a better floor than his fellow Claret defenders. Finally we round it out with the undroppable Trent who has 42% chance of a clean sheet, 31% of an assist and 11% of a goal this week vs Palace.

Pivot: Charlie Taylor, Kiko Femenia, Joao Cancelo

MIDS: Dwight McNeil, Kevin De Bruyne, Raphinha

McNeil is our only DGW midfielder as he's the only one who's both (almost) guaranteed to start 2 games and also scores well per game. KDB has been on fire recently and has a nice matchup vs Southampton and has a 35% chance of scoring and a 31% chance of assisting. Raphinha is a somewhat out of left field pick but the projection algorithm really likes him and we have a feeling why. Right wings have been absolutely tearing up Newcastle as of late (who's there left back again?). He also has a 35% chance of scoring and a 21% chance of assisting. Pivot: Bruno Fernandes, Phil Foden, Ashley Westwood

FWD: Emmanuel Dennis, Josh King, and Joao Pedro

Yes indeed. We're going full stack of the 3 Watford forwards. With Pedro performing well and the other 2 pretty consistent members of Ranieri's starting XI's we feel good about all their chances to start both games in the DGW. We also feel very good about their abilities to score points against bottom sides Norwich and Newcastle. They each have around 35% goal odds and 20% assist odds in their first match against Norwich and likely fairly similar in their second against Burnley. It's a bold call to stack 1 team so heavily, but there's really no better time to do it (unless of course Man City were in this spot).

Pivot: Raheem Sterling, Patson Daka, Jay Rodriguez
