Essential reading before the Tuesday waiver requests process!

Gameweek 17 Waiver Wire

Here we outline Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Targets that have 40% ownership or below on Fantrax.  These are the low ownership players who could perform very well over the upcoming period!

***The Brentford v Manchester United game on Tuesday has now been postponed due to a COVID outbreak at United. We've added two new waiver wire choices due to Janelt and McTominay now not being in action***

Vitaly Janelt

Position: Midfielder

Team: Brentford

Ownership: 32%

Next Fixture: MUN (H)

Prospects: Janelt scored well in the win vs. Watford and seems to be a consistent MID4 option. He should get a start vs. United. Despite 2 wins in a row, United have looked very shaky at the back, and there‘s a good chance Janelt gets another double digit outing.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver claim or 3-5% of my FAB on Janelt.

Scott McTominay

Position: Midfielder

Team: Manchester United

Ownership: 26%

Next Fixture: bre (A)

Prospects: McTominay put in a stellar performance against Norwich, and the "McFred" combo is thriving. He will most likely be in the XI again, and it seems the pivot midfield will be the most consistent point scorers for United. He is a must pickup for me and could have MID3 value each week.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver claim or 5-10% of my FAB on McTominay.

Arthur Masuaku

Position: Defender

Team: West Ham

Ownership: 15%

Next Fixture: ars (A)

Prospects: Masuaku played well in the draw vs. Burnley, helping to keep a clean sheet. He should get another start with Cresswell still hurt, and is looking to lock down his spot in the XI. He offers some upside with his pace and dribbling ability, and if he starts is a solid DEF3.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver claim or 3-7% of my FAB on Masuaku,

Tom Cleverley

Position: Midfielder

Team: Watford

Ownership: 1%

Next Fixtures bur (A)

Prospects: Cleverley got an assist in the loss to Brentford. He should get another run in the XI against Burnley, and took his fair share of set pieces. Burnley do seem to give up a decent amount of set plays, so Cleverley could be in for a double digit outing here.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-2% of my FAB on Cleverley.

Will Hughes

Position: Midfielder

Team: Crystal Palace

Ownership: 4%

Next Fixtures SOU (H)

Prospects: Will Hughes gained his first start for Crystal Palace at the weekend, and he came away with an assist and 4 corner kicks as per our GW16 Set Piece Takers article. The former Watford man has decent potential as a MID4/5, and was actually pretty impressive during the Hornets' 19/20 Premier League campaign.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 2-3% of my FAB on Hughes.

Cheikhou Kouyate

Position: Defender

Team: Crystal Palace

Ownership: 34%

Next Fixtures SOU (H)

Prospects: Cheikhou Kouyate, classified as a defender on Fantrax, has been playing back in his usual midfield role in recent weeks and months. The Senegalese international has been scoring fairly well for ghost points, and boasts the clean sheet potential due to his position classification. He also boasts the potential for negative points due to goals conceded, but I don't think this will be an issue as Palace face an injury ridden Southampton side this week.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 2-3% of my FAB on Kouyate.
