Norwich City Sleepers
As noted above, these are potential Fantrax Sleepers from Norwich City. These Fantasy EPL players are likely to be drafted in the later rounds, or even not at all. In the case of the Canaries, the later is going to be more relevant! Read below for three under the radar players who could provide excellent value in your pre-season draft.
Kieran Dowell
Position: Midfielder
20/21 Points: 154.75
20/21 Points Per 90: 15
Recommended Draft Pick: 181 to 192 (12 Team League: Round 16)
Overview: Struggled with injuries during his first campaign with Norwich, ended the season in the best XI, 5 goals and 1 assist in under 1,000 minutes of action, very high points per 90 average.
I did like Kieran Dowell for an end of draft punt before the Premier League fixtures were released! But with the Canaries facing European challenging sides in each of the first four GWs, he's probably not worth drafting. The former Everton attacking midfielder plays just behind Pukki, and performed well during an injury-hit first campaign. Dowell gained 6 attacking returns (5 goals, 1 assist) during just 936 minutes. The Englishman will start the season in Norwich's best XI, and has a chance of becoming a good under the radar asset. His Points Per 90 average of 15.1 shows that his stats for last season were pretty impressive, with a lot of his points coming from those Ghost Points we know and love (average of 9.9 Ghost Points Per 90).
Grant Hanley
Position: Defender
20/21 Points: 398.5
20/21 Points Per 90: 9.5
Recommended Draft Pick: Undrafted
Overview: Club captain and inspirational leader, will hopefully organise a better defensive unit for Norwich this season, scored well for aerials and clearances last season but likely to concede a few.
Forget Max Aarons or Dimitris Giannoulis, Grant Hanley is the Norwich City defender you need to keep an eye on. The big centre-back was very impressive during the Canaries' promotion campaign, captaining the side to another Championship winners trophy. Hanley has had his time in Norfolk impacted by injuries, but he's now showing that he can be the leader they were missing during the 19/20 season. He's also showing that he might just have it in his locker to become a good Fantrax Sleeper for the upcoming season. Last year Hanley made a huge number of Aerials (181) and Clearances (211), as well as a good number of Interceptions (77). One to take a punt on for GW5 and beyond, once Norwich's fixtures turn for the better. And seriously, forget Max Aarons.
Tim Krul
Position: Goalkeeper
20/21 Points: 295
20/21 Points Per 90: 8.5
Recommended Draft Pick: 181 to 192 (12 Team League: Round 16)
Overview: Showing great form for Norwich into his mid-30s, potential to be a Johnstone/Areola type GK this season.
Norwich don't really have many other draftable players. Most of Farke's squad will consist of sleepers and streamers, with most players likely to be fixture dependent. One player who should offer season-long value is Tim Krul. The Dutch shot-stopper has been a really consistent player over the last few years, and has even worked his way back into contention for the national side. Last season Krul played 36 games, kept 17 clean sheets, conceded 23 goals, and made 90 saves. I see Krul as a Johnstone/Areola type goalkeeper in Fantrax this season. As ever, look for goalkeepers that have a good shots saved to goals conceded ratio. I think Krul will do well in my Goalkeeper Rankings this season.
