Manchester United Sleepers
As noted above, these are potential Fantrax Sleepers from Manchester United . These Fantasy EPL players are likely to be drafted in the later rounds. Read below for three under the radar players who could provide excellent value in your pre-season draft.
Edinson Cavani
Position: Forward
20/21 Points: 181 (152nd overall)
20/21 Points Per Start: 7.7
Recommended Draft Pick: 73 to 96 (12 Team League: Round 7-8)
Overview: Cavani started to find his feet near the end of the season and became key to United's success. The biggest worry is whether Cavani will be used mainly in the UCL or EPL this season.
Cavani has proven he can be the striker United need for the upcoming season, but he will share time with the likes of Greenwood, and even Martial. In my opinion Cavani should see at least 25 starts barring any serious injuries. When he starts he has the upside of a lower end FWD1, so drafting him in the 7th round could be incredible value. If United manage to keep Pogba and add in Sancho, Cavani will have even more service to feed on. In his second season in the EPL I expect Cavani to only improve in his goal output.
Scott McTominay
Position: Midfielder
20/21 Points: 195 (134th overall)
20/21 Points Per Start: 8.2
Recommended Draft Pick: 133 to 168 (12 Team League: Round 12-14)
Overview: McTominay has proved his importance to Manchester United, and had a decent end to the year. He will be looking to secure a starting XI role over Fred in United's midfield next year.
McTominay always gives 100% effort in every start and is considered a "work-horse" by United fans. I do believe he locks down the starting spot over Fred and has the upside of a MID4 when he starts. He is a goal threat from set plays and also has a decent strike on him where he'll grab the odd goal. Drafting McTominay as your MID5 would be good value considering he has a decent floor when he starts.
Anthony Martial
Position: Forward
20/21 Points: 175 (166th overall)
20/21 Points Per Start: 8.6
Recommended Draft Pick: 133 to 168 (12 Team League: Round 12-14)
Overview: Martial struggled for form all season, and ended the season with injuries and being dropped from the XI.
I like Martial for a FWD4 pickup in the late rounds due to his upside and potential. There is every chance he leaves United near the end of the transfer window, but this late in the draft he is worth the risk. If he manages to find some form he will give Cavani some competition for that starting striker role. My expectations for Martial are not very high next year, but I would love to be proven wrong. He has the talent to be United's main striker but unfortunately he lacks the attitude and work ethic. This may be Martial's final chance to show what he has in a United shirt and if he falls to rounds 12-14 he is worth that gamble.
